Plastic surgery’s popularity has been on the rise for a few years now. In 2018, North America in particular had seen a massive spike in plastic surgery operations. However, this wasn’t a big surprise as plastic surgery overall has been on the rise for the past five years or so.

Over time, cosmetic surgeries have become more acceptable in the public eye and are now much more affordable. Gone are the days when plastic surgery was reserved for the ultra-rich.
It is also no longer looked down upon as an artificial means of becoming beautiful. Many types of plastic surgery encourage self-confidence and body positivity. Technological advances have also ensured that it is totally safe to “go under the knife”, as long as you use a trusted plastic surgeon.

However, trends are constantly changing in the world of cosmetic surgery. As we move into the new year, certain trends will die off, and some will become popular. Here are some of the plastic surgery trends we will see in 2021.

Breast Augmentation

This particular surgery has become extremely popular in recent years. This type of augmentation aims to increase the fullness of a woman’s breasts, making them look larger. It is also used to balance out an uneven set of breasts. Sometimes the terms breast augmentation and breast implants are used interchangeably – however, there is a difference.

Breast augmentation does sometimes call for the use of breast implants, which will be put under the breast tissue, therefore increasing their size. However, there are other procedures that fall under breast augmentation.

An operation that has become very popular is known as a Fat graft augmentation surgery, or fat transfer augmentation. This natural form of breast augmentation uses the fat from your own body to increase the size of the breasts.

Liposuction

Liposuction, also known as body contouring, has been rising in popularity as well, as it can be used on various parts of the body. This procedure uses a suction technique to remove fat from parts of the body. This process also shapes the areas where it is performed, so it leaves patients with a nice contour.

This operation is popular amongst both men and women and has remained popular since 2018. The parts of the body in which patients most often use liposuction include the abdomen, hips, thighs, and upper arms.

This form of plastic surgery remains the most common in the United States.

Anti-Aging

According to doctors, plastic surgery is being used more to prevent the signs of aging in their faces rather than reversing aging. Procedures such as the facelift, which causes unnatural perfection in the face at times, is a form of an age reversal operation that is becoming less popular.

Patients from their early twenties are now undergoing botox injections, as well as laser resurfacing and chemical peels to keep their faces youthful into their later years. Laser resurfacing refers to the process of removing the outer layer of your skin, which becomes smooth and soft once it grows back.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Jobs)

Your nose is one of the first things people notice when they see your face, even if it is subconsciously. It is responsible for a big part of how your face looks, so it makes sense that people want to have as perfect a nose for their face as possible. Now that social media always has everyone looking at and thinking about how their face looks, it’s no wonder that this form of surgery is becoming popular.

Although popular, it is one of the more dangerous operations that can be performed, because if it is done incorrectly, it could potentially cause severe damage to your face and the way that you breathe through your nose.

There are two main types of rhinoplasty available: a classic rhinoplasty surgery, and a nonsurgical form of rhinoplasty known as liquid rhinoplasty. Non-surgical rhinoplasty has been on the rise in recent years because, as the name suggests, it does not require real surgery. It instead requires the injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to affect the shape of the nose. It can look so good that it can sometimes be mistaken for a surgical nose job.

Lots of research is recommended before seeking out either method of rhinoplasty.

Dying Trends

Oversized Butt and Breast implants

There was a time a few years ago when many women were looking for that very pronounced hourglass figure. The demand for large butt and breast implants was very high because of this. However, this has been on a slow decline since 2018, as more women request more natural-looking augmentations. There have also been many operations to remove existing implants!
The focus has moved away from having larger breasts and butts, and more to having a nicer shape.

Another big reason this trend is dying is because of safety. For example, a Brazilian butt lift has the highest risk of death out of any plastic surgery procedures on the market. The oversized nature of these implants can also cause back pain and other types of comfort problems.

This idea of beauty is also simply dying out as a more “natural” looking woman is becoming a popular desire amongst most people in America.

Conclusion

The use of plastic surgery to enhance one’s features has been around for decades. The only difference from now and then is its availability, social acceptability, and cost. Cosmetic surgery is no longer looked down upon, and has grown cheap enough so the average person can look to it as a viable possibility. The technology for performing plastic surgery has evolved to the point where most operations can be done incredibly safely as well.

Different trends will die off and become popular, so it’s important to know why they do, as well as which ones.

It is always advised that plastic surgery should not be used as a substitute for weight loss.
Please see a doctor to discuss any plastic surgery procedure you would like to undertake.

Does it ever feel like you’ve done thousands of sit-ups but just aren’t seeing the results you want? If you still have stubborn fat or excess skin around your abdomen and it’s not responding to diet or exercise, you may be a good candidate for a tummy tuck. The medical term for a tummy tuck is abdominoplasty, and it’s a surgery that flattens the abdomen. The excess fat and skin are removed thus tightening the abdominal wall. Though fundamentally different from liposuction, many patients opt to get liposuction along with a tummy tuck.

Abdominoplasty is a major surgery, and you should understand the facts relating to the surgery in order to decide if this is the right decision for you. Everyone has different personal goals and it’s important to manage your expectations.

The first step towards determining if the tummy tuck is right for you is to choose a surgeon and see him or her for a consultation. During this meeting, the surgeon will discuss with you your goals and medical history. Smokers will be required to stop smoking for at least the two weeks preceding and following the surgery. And, no cheaters – it’s not enough to minimize the smoking; you must completely stop smoking during this time frame because it leads to complications and diminishes the healing process.

In a complete abdominoplasty, the surgeon will make an incision in your abdomen across the hipbone region and contour the skin, tissue, and muscle as needed. The surgery involves moving your belly button, and drainage tubes may be inserted under the skin for several days. In a partial abdominoplasty, also called a mini-abdominoplasty, the surgeon will not need to move your belly button. The mini-abdominoplasty is typically done on people whose fat deposits are below the navel area; the procedure may take as little as two hours.

The patient should plan to have a trusted friend or loved one drive him or her home following the surgery. If the patient lives alone, it’s recommended that the companion stays with him or her for at least the first night after the procedure. Depending on the individual case, the patient may be advised to spend the first night in the hospital.

During the procedure, the patient will be put under general anesthesia. Whether the procedure entails a partial or complete abdominoplasty, the targeted area will be stitched and bandaged. It’s crucial to follow the surgeon’s instructions to properly care for the bandages in the days following surgery. The typical bandage used is a firm, elastic band that promotes proper healing. The surgeon will also instruct the patient on sitting and lying positions that will help to ease pain.

The patient may not endure strenuous activity for at least six weeks following the procedure, and may need to take up to a month off of work after the surgery in order to ensure proper recovery. Follow your surgeon’s advice at all times during the recovery period.

In general, patients are very happy with the outcomes of the surgery. Though you may not feel quite like yourself for the weeks or months after surgery, healing takes time for every patient. Diet and exercise can help you maintain the results of your tummy tuck.

“Selfie: an image of oneself taken by oneself using a smart phone or other digital device usually for the purpose of uploading to social media platforms.”

Some in our society see too many selfies as a touch of “narcissism” while other’s see it as the way of the times and harmless. Regardless of your view thanks to the thrill of being noticed Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms similar to them are here to stay.

Not just the young are doing it

The surprising thing about the art of self-portraiture is that it’s not only the millennium generation who are finding them appealing. Seems that people of all ages and gender want to look good in their selfies and are willing to go to any length to get the look that will garner them more likes, followers and comments.

Like it or not, selfies are fast becoming a way of life for a large majority of folks.

But what exactly are people willing to do to get more followers, likes, shares and comments?

According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, “One in three plastic surgeons reported seeing an increase in request for facial procedures by patients who wanted to look better online. The doctors reported that between 2012 and 2013 they saw a 10 percent rise in nose jobs, a 7 percent rise in hair transplants and 6 percent rise in eyelid surgery.”

Think plastic surgeons are in it for the money?

Many may be tempted to think that plastic surgeons would perform operations on “Whosoever will let him come?” It’s actually not true.

While some doctors will perform procedures on patients that they comfortably feel understand what they are getting into. Many will turn their younger want-to-be patients away until they’re 18, others turn wanna be patients away if they come in to the office showing selfies from their phones.

Dr.’s point out that viewing yourself from a cell phone is not the best way to determine how one looks. Nor is it the best way to display your features.

What population does plastic surgery appeal to most?

According to CBS News, “Women are still plastic surgery’s primary customers — accounting for 81 percent of all procedures and injections, but men are increasingly becoming more interested in plastic surgery. Whereas women more often ask for face lifts and eye lifts, men are more interested in keeping their hair and in combating wrinkles.
Meanwhile, in the under-35 category, the nose job remained the most popular elective surgical procedure for both sexes, accounting for 90 percent of procedures in women and 86 percent in men.”
What should you do to look your best in a self portraiture?

The best thing to do before taking a selfie if you’re self-conscious is wear clean and natural tone make-up, play up your best features. Be mindful of the lighting, and learn to use filters.

Most of the people go in for liposuction to reduce the additional body fat accumulated on their thighs, stomach or their hips. But with the changing of times our society is becoming more and more accepting towards this procedure and the result of that is women are considering liposuction on their calves. If you are a woman who is acceptable towards trying out this kind of liposuction then here are a few tips for you to help you judge whether you fit the bill or not.

Work Outs don’t work for you:

If you have been attending rigorous work outs and have even change your entire diet plan to get rid of the excessive fat on your calves then you should go in for this liposuction. You should consult with a good plastic surgeon to discuss your case history so that the surgeon can know the key points of your calves where the fat had started to accumulate. Talking to an experienced surgeon would also help you to put faith in the procedure.

Fat on calves is Hereditary:

In some cases the fat amount on a person’s body can be due to his or her heredity. If your mother and grandmother also have excessive fat on their calves then you must consider liposuction on your calves. You should not hesitate to share your family history with the plastic surgeon as it would help the surgeon to know your proper condition.
You want to fit in your old jeans: If you really want to fit into your old jeans and are going in for a thigh

liposuction, you should try the calves’ liposuction too. It would ensure that you have your long and skinny legs back in no time. It would also give you the freedom to try out latest fashion trends like knee high boots that add an unusual grace to your figure.
Apart from giving you great legs, the calves’ liposuction would also help you to regain your confidence in your body. You would not be hesitant to wear a short dress to any party as you will have great legs to show off. A successful liposuction would also be good for you if you are too conscious about how you look as compared to other women because it would even give you better legs than anyone in your social circle.

Plastic surgery offers people thе opportunity tо change thеіr life wіthоut hаvіng tо start аll over. However Getting plastic surgery is a huge investment, and the average patient can’t afford to pay for the same procedure every few years. That said, what’s the point in paying close to $10,000 for a facelift if you’ll need another one in ten years?

To avoid a predicament like this, it’s important to remember, time is everything when it comes to cosmetic surgery-but the idea of “perfect timing” will vary from procedure to procedure. Fortunately, we’ve compiled this cheat sheet to help you pinpoint the perfect age to go under the knife.

Botox

Optimum age: 30 and up

Maximum age: n/a

Being one of the most affordable and accessible procedures, women and men opt for Botox treatments at all ages. Since the injections only last a few months, there aren’t any real minimum or maximum ages associated with Botox. That said, most people don’t develop permanent wrinkles until their early thirties, so it might be a good idea to wait until then when the effects will be much more noticeable.

Rhinoplasty

Optimum age: 20 and up

If you decide a nose job is right for you, it’s absolutely crucial that you wait until all of the bones in your face stop growing, which is typically around 18 or 19. Once your facial structure is essentially “set in stone”, then you’re good to go-in fact, you probably don’t want to wait much longer after that. The younger you are, the more flexible and elastic your skin. On the other hand, once you reach the age of about 50, your loose skin simply won’t be able to adapt to your nose’s new shape.

Facelift

Optimum age: Mid-Forties

Most people wait until they’re unhappy with the way they look to have their first facelift, but the truth of the matter is, once you face and skin reaches a certain point, there’s not much you can do to change it. We recommend getting a facelift in your mid-forties when your skin is still elastic enough to heal smoothly with much more natural results.

Liposuction

Optimum age: Mid-thirties

Rarely can liposuction achieve anything for anyone under 30 that’s a bit of exercise and healthy eating won’t achieve more quickly, cheaply, and with zero recovery time. Once you’re a bit older, however, you may start to notice stubborn “fat stores” like saddle bags, tummy pouches, and plump jowls that simply won’t disappear.

Breast Implants

Optimum age: Mid-twenties

Breast implants only last 12-20 years, so in most cases, it’s best to get them while you’re young and can still… well, show them off. That said, it’s important to wait until your breasts have stopped growing and developing, which is typically between ages 18-25.

Breast Lift

Optimum age: 40-50

If you’re in the market for a breast lift on the other hand, it’s better to wait until you’re well into your forties. Get one before, and you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment when you see the effects disappear after childbirth, or the natural course of aging and sagging sets in.
