4 Procedures for a Summer Body

January 19, 2018

We’re just a few months away from spring and that means summer will be here before you know it. That means our well-awaited beach time is just around the corner, not to mention the warmer weather–which means we won’t be hiding behind layers of clothes anymore! For some, this can be a dreadful time of year. For those of us who struggle with self-esteem, it’s definitely not exciting to imagine less layers of clothing.

That’s where cosmetic surgery comes in! Cosmetic surgeons love helping others feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and they are trusted across the globe by millions of people. Truly, there are millions and millions of cosmetic procedures successfully performed every year.

It’s definitely time to start preparing for those sun-laden months and what better time to find out more about how cosmetic surgery can enhance your appearance and give you back some of that self-esteem you’ve been craving? Also, now is the perfect time to begin cosmetic procedures when you take into account the healing time necessary. If you want to be all ready to go before summer, you’re in the perfect timeframe to start planning!

Some of the most popular cosmetic treatments in preparation for summer include the more obvious choices like breast enhancements and tummy tucks, but a lot of women (and men) also receive arm lift and liposuction procedures to regain some confidence before the summer months.

Let’s start with the most common procedures just to give you an idea of what to expect.

Breast Augmentation/Implants

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over 300,000 women per year will have a breast augmentation surgery. It’s definitely one of the most popular cosmetic procedures out there and it also includes the highest rate of overall patient satisfaction. Women desire breast implants for all sorts of reasons. Some go through life changes like pregnancy or weight change that can cause sagging, so they want to get back to a perky youthful glow (often included with a breast lift). Some women simply want to increase their breast size or improve their self-esteem. Either way, this is a very, very common procedure and can be completed before summer is in full steam. When it comes to pain and healing, you can be back to work in as little as 1-2 weeks a lot of the time, but you want to give yourself at least 6 weeks to fully recover. With summer just a few months away, you’ve got plenty of time if you get started now!

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tucks are not just for women. A lot of men also opt for a tummy tuck to help sculpt their abdomen back into shape. This can be especially true after weight loss when the skin is stretched and loose, similarly with pregnancies and the toll they take on our bodies. Loose skin is a common problem post-weight loss or post-pregnancy, but it’s very easy to fix with a tummy tuck procedure. A tummy tuck can help restore your self-confidence and give you that smooth summer stomach you desire. Recovery for tummy tuck procedures varies according to the extent of the procedure. Most patients return to work within just 1-2 weeks, but other activities like vigorous work outs may take up to 2 months to prepare for. In general, however, you should be able to return to work within a week or two.

Liposuction

Liposuction can be coupled with a tummy tuck, but often it is also requested without the tummy tuck. Liposuction is one of the most common procedures for both men and women and is not just used for the abdomen. It can also be used effectively for sculpting your arms, neck, waist, back, hips, legs, etc. Love handles, for example, are often removed with liposuction procedures. It’s important to remember, however, that liposuction (like a tummy tuck) is not a fat removal procedure. Liposuction, like tummy tucks, are sculpting procedures. The recovery time for liposuction is quite fast. Most people return to work in as little as a few days and return to their normal activity level within a few short weeks.

Arm Lift

Again, a reshaping and sculpting procedure, arm lifting is ideal for those who want to remove sagging skin from the upper arms which can become increasingly frustrating over time. Rather than hiding your arms behind long sleeve shirts, why not opt for a way to remove that excess skin and feel better about your appearance again? Arm lift procedures are a wonderfully effective way to revive your youthful appearance and feel better during these coming summer months. Arm lift recovery does take a bit longer than liposuction, but not by much. You will need to wait 1-2 weeks before returning to work and at least 10 days before driving. Still, the recovery time is fairly quick and definitely allows plenty of time to complete before summer is here!

These are only a few of the most common cosmetic procedures requested in preparation for summer, but there are many options when it comes to improving your self-esteem and attaining an appearance that makes you feel good in your skin. For more options or any requests outside of these four examples, just get in touch with us. We’d love to help you discover the best fit for you. Whether you’d like breast enhancement services, loose skin removal, or simply to refresh your facial skin, we have plenty of options.

There’s no need to feel uncomfortable in your skin and there’s certainly no shame in improving your appearance through cosmetic surgery options. It’s very common and desired across the globe. As we said earlier, over 300,000 women receive breast implants per year. Liposuction is up there with over 200,000 procedures per year, and tummy tucks just below in the 150,000 range. Plenty of men and women across the world want to feel good when they look in the mirror and your ideal look is achievable with quick recovery times that will leave you feeling ready and excited to show off your new look during the warmer months ahead.
